· As a counselor, you are working with a 38-year-old female who has trust issues stemming from childhood emotional trauma. Growing up your client experienced an emotionally absent mother and a father that worked all the time.  She was frequented with sitters and others taking her to appointments, and she spent a lot of time alone in her room.  When her mother was around she did not feel comfortable talking about any subject with depth and not ever personal issues.  The client describes her mother as “cold and judgmental”.
