Developing a Philosophy
of Nursing

My
perspective about the nursing profession is that every nurse should offer
quality care to the patient. When quality is maintained, it becomes easy to
achieve patient safety and avoid unnecessary medical errors. The nurses must
work in interdisciplinary teams to improve coordination and surveillance to
that affect patient satisfaction. As a nurse, I am
willing to provide the patient with the best experience by ensuring proper
communication between the patient, family members, and caregivers. Also, to
improve the quality of care as a nurse, I will have to offer the patients education
to reduce their fears and negative concerns and instead improve their trust in
the care delivery.

I
believe that my role as a nurse is about helping others. I am focused on
treating all my patients with dignity as human beings and respecting their
decisions throughout my time with them. I believe that my personal belief will
play a significant role throughout my career and enable me to remain
competitive and meet the goals set by the healthcare organization. I value
helping others, particularly those in need. I believe that my contribution to
achieving the therapeutic goals will enable the patient to overcome their
physical and mental complications. Therefore, I intend to work closely with
every patient that visits the healthcare facility so that I can locate their
problems and assist them in accessing the appropriate care. It will be my role
to help the the needs of the patient population
offer insights to patients to change the undesirable behaviors and habits to
improve their wellbeing.

My
approach to caring for others is empathy and compassion to address and advocate
for their needs. I will have to maintain a positive relationship with every
patient and ensure that their needs are met. Empathy would allow me as a nurse to
build a solid and trustworthy connection with my patients. Through empathy,
compassion, and active listening to the patients, it will be easy to strengthen
the communication process and understand what they are experiencing or coping
with the challenges. A with the pain and
suffering of the patient and finds it appropriate to help the patients and make
them more comfortable. I will provide emotional support to the patient and
respond to their questions to create a robust relationship bond to aid
recovery.
