Client Population Paper

Assignment:

(3-5 typed, double-spaced pages): Identify the client
population that you are currently working with at your field placement.
Find 2+ scholarly journal articlesor chapters from a textbook that has
information that help you understand the population and presenting
issues/problems.Summarize what you think are the most important
pieces of information that will be helpful in working with and understanding
the client population.

Cite your references in the body of the text AND on an additional
last page, entitled Works Cited.

Breaking it down:

1. Who are you serving at your current field placement?Elderly and older adultDescribe the client population
   (ex. elderly people over 80 with varying levels of dementia)Elderly people with dementia, homeless elderly and ederly
   that is being abuse, Rehabilitation for elderly.

2. Come up with
   1-2 questions that you want answered about this population. These are your research questions.

For example:

1. What is dementia? What are the types of dementia?

2. What the most effective
   ways to engage elderly people with dementia in a ?

3. Research
   answers to your questions using the library resources and databases. Make sure that your research findings are
   recent (within 5 years or less).

4. Summarize the
   findings of your articles or chapters.

5. Describe what
   you have learned from your researchspecifically, how it can help you be more effective
   with the clients that you are currently working with.

6. Include a
   Works Cited page (in addition to the 3-5 pages). Use MLA format to cite your references both
   in the body of your text and on your Works Cited page.

7. If you need
   any help with research or MLA format, ask a WCC librarian!

8. If writing is
   challenging for you, at the WCC writing center.

9. Proofread/Spellcheck
   all of your work before handing it in.
