In Nicomachean Ethics, book II, section 1, Aristotle stresses the importance of being trained in virtue from a young age. Confucius also touches on the value of habituation in virtue over time.

In a post of 6-8 sentences, give a quote from Aristotle or Confucius on this theme, and explain whether you agree or disagree with the quote, and why.

Some topics you might consider include: Why is it important to train children in virtue? What are the best ways to do this? How, if at all, can people acquire virtues later in life if they got off to a bad start? And, how is our society doing in imparting virtue to children and teenagers?

But, to think outside the box, lets consider how ethics might look for some (space aliens) with a different psychology than ours!! It never hurts to be prepared…

First, describe your extraterrestrialmaking things up in a creative way. Explain how your alien reasons (if at all), what feelings it has (if any), etc.
Then, describe how ethics would apply to your creature: Does it think in terms of moral duties? If so, what are these? And, if we find it, could we convince it to respect us?
